වෙරමුණේ ගමේ ඉතිහාසය සහ වැදගත් සිදුවීම්

Weeramunai
King “Paalasinga” married Princess “Seerpaatha” and when they visited Sri Lanka their ship halted in Trincomalee harbor. When they tried to find out why the ship halted, a “Vinayagar” statue was seen under the ship and the Princess got it and tried to launch the ship and build a temple, the ship landed at Weeramunai “Allaikkulam” and engaged soldiers to guard at points and built a “Sithi Vinayagar” Temple and worshiped and thereby it is called ‘Weeramunai’.

බාලසිංහ රජතුමා ශී්‍රපාද රාජ කුමාරිකාව විවාහ කරගෙන ශී්‍ර ලංකාවෙි සංචාරයක යෙදී සිටියදී ති්‍රකුණාමලය වරායේදී නැව නතරවුණා කියන හේතුව දෙස බලනවිට ගණ දෙවි ප්‍රතිමාවක් නැවි පතුලේ තිබෙනවා දැක එය අරගත් කුමාරිකාව කෝවිලක් ඉදිකිරීමට තැත්කළ නැව පාවෙන්නට හැර කෝවිලක් ඉදිකිරීමට තැත්කළ විට නැව වීරමුණෙයි අල්ලෙයි කුලමි වැවෙි නැවැතුණු නිසා එම ස්ථානයේ කෝවිලක් ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා ආරCෂාව පිණිස සෙන්පතිවරුන්ව මුහුදුු තුඩුවෙි තබා සිත්ති විනායගර් කෝවිල ඉදිකර වැඳ පුදා තිබෙනවා. එම නිස

பாலசிங்க மன்னன் சீர்பாத இளவரசியை மணம் முடித்து இலங்கையை சுற்றுப்பயணம் செய்தபோது திருகோணமலைத் துறைமுகத்தில் கப்பல் ஓடாது நிற்க காரணத்தை நோக்கும்போது விநாயகர் சிலை ஒன்று கப்பலின் அடியிலே ஓடாது நிற்க அதனைப் பெற்ற இளவரசி கப்பலை வெள்ளோட்டம் இட்டு கோயில் அமைக்க முற்பட்டபோது அது வீரமுனை அல்லைக் குளத்தில் தட்ட அவ்விடத்தில் ஆலயம் அமைக்க வீரர்களை முனைகளில் காவலிட்டு சித்தி விநாயகர் கோயிலை அமைத்து வழிபட்டதால் வீரமுனை என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது
