වෙරමුණේ ගමේ ඉතිහාසය සහ වැදගත් සිදුවීම්

The temple
On 12th August, 1990, entered into the temple, hundreds of people were shot dead and over eighty people were taken alive. Also, belongings of many people were taken forcibly and left unaided.
Further, it is notable that many people were killed in the inner shrine of the temple. In memory of this incident, the monument is erected in the temple.
When we came to know of this story from elders, we felt sadness. Also, it is questionable what would have been done, if we were living at that time.

1990.0812 දින කෝවිල ඇතුළට ගොස් ජීවිත සිය ගණනක් වෙඞ් තබා මරා දැමුවා පමණක් නොව ’’’’’ ගණනකට වැඞ් සංඛ්‍යාවක් පණ පිටින් රැගෙන ගොස් තිබෙනවා.
එපමණක් නොව බොහෝ දෙනෙකුගේ දේපල උදුරාගෙන ඔවුන් අසරණ තත්ත්වයට පත්කර තිබෙනවා.
එපමණක් නොව මෙහි බොහෝ දෙනෙකුව කෝවිලේ ගැබ තුලදී මරා දමා තිබෙන බවද විශේෂයෙන් සඳහන් කළ යුතුයි. එම සිද්ධ්ය සිහිපත් කිරීම පිණිස කෝවිලේ සිහිවටන ඵලකයක් ඉදිකර තිබෙනවා.
මෙවැනි කතා වැඞ්හිටියන් මගින් දැනගත් පසු අපට දුක හිතුණා’ අනෙක ඒ කාලෙ අපිත් සිටියා නමි මොනවාගේ දේවල් වෙන්න ඇත්ද යනු ප්‍රශ්නාර්ථයක් වෙනවා’

1990 ம் ஆண்டு 8ம் மாதம் 12ம் திகதி ஆலயத்திற்குள் உட்சென்று நூற்றுக்கணக்கான உயிர்களை சுட்டுக் கொன்று மற்றும் எண்பதிற்கு மேற்பட்ட உயிர்களை உயிருடன் கொண்டு சென்றும் உள்ளனர். அது மட்டுமன்றி பல மக்களின் உடைமைகளும் பறிக்கப்பட்டு நிர்கதியாக ஆக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். மற்றும் இவ்வாறான பல மக்கள் ஆலயக் கருவறையில் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கதாகும். இதனை நினைவூபடுத்தும் முகமாக ஆலயத்தின் முன் நினைவூத்தூபி அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது
இது சம்பந்தமான கதைகளை எமது மூத்தோரிடம் இருந்து அறியும்போது கவலையாக உணரந்தோம். மற்றும் அக்காலத்தில் நாங்களும் இருந்தால் என்ன நடந்து இருக்கும் என்பதும் எங்கள் கேள்விக்குறியாக உள்ளது.
