Floods
The Nilwala river was overflowed and affected the Godapitiya village in 18th may 2003.
The people of the Godapitiya faced tremendous hardship. The People's property and other things were washed away. Sathath Maha vidyalaya also destroyed which is highly worrying fact.
therefore the children of Godapitiya had to face many problems to pursue their education.

2003.05.10 දින නිල්වලා ගග උතුරු ගොඩපිටියගම යට විය. මේ නිසා ගොඩපිටිය ජනතාවට විශාල පීඩාවන් ඇති විය. ඔවුන්ගේ දේපල, ගෙවල් විනාශ විය.
එහි තිබුනු සාදාන් පාසල සම්පූර්ණයෙන් විනාශ විය.
මේ නිසා ගොඩපිටිය ළමුන්ගේ අධ්යාපන කටයුතුද අඩාල විය.

2003.05.18 ஆந் திகதி நில்வளா நதி பெருக்கெடுத்து கொடபிட்டிய கிராமத்தை ஆக்கிரமித்தது. இதனால் பல இன்னல்களை கொடபிட்டிய வாழ் மக்கள் அனுபவித்தனர். அதாவது மக்களுடைய பொருட்கள் சொத்துகள் அனைத்தும் நீரால் அடித்துச் செல்லப்பட்டது. கவலைக்குரிய விடயம் என்னவெனில் ஸாதாத் மகா வித்தியாலயம் உடைந்து சென்றது. இதனால் கொடப்பிட்டிய வாழ் சிறார்கள் கல்விக்காக சிரமங்களை எதிர்கொண்டனர்.
