Dear Mr. Upul,

I am Pujitha Raviratne. There are 6 members in my family. They are myself, my wife and four children. I have one son and three daughters. I lost my job due to an incident that happened in the Co-operative Shop while I was working as a Co-operative Manager. After that, I started a chili mill as self-employment. Also I did masonry work. When we were living like that, one Poya Day morning, great wave of water came from the beach side. Everything in the house were washed away, including the house. Luckily, we all survived. All our possessions were washed away with the great water. We lost everything.

The Surgeon in Matara Hospital bought a house and built a house for us. I gave it to my son. We built our house with Government and neighbors’ support. Then I started a string-hoppers business. Also I restarted my chili mill. Now we are leaving an ordinary life. I have positions in various societies. My expectation is to finish my children’s marriages.
