I was born and brought up at Mullikulam. We owned a fishing business, but later during the conflict time we abandon it and ran away to India. When we came back from India there was nothing left, fishing net, boat and everything were burnt. Even the house is lost. Later again when the conflict arose we left to Thalvuppaadu and lived there for six years before returning here. Before the conflict there were 300 families in Mullikkulam, they all got scattered during the conflict time and so many of them have not returned.
Still some people live in Mannar, India and so many other places. Initially there was the Movement, later it was PLOT, and then the Peravai. Later LTTE and PLOT got in to a dispute. There were causalities in both sides. Later PLOT was dissolved and only LTTE was in function. During the conflict between LTTE and the military the public got displaced from the villages and went to India through Thalai Mannar by boat.
We were in India for two years before returning to Tricomalee, later we moved to Kalpity and then we were kept in Pesalai camp. Then we were asked to move to places of our wish. We went to Thalvupaadu. Again the conflict began in 2002 and we stayed in Murungan School for 18 days and returned to Thalvupaadu. Now we are staying in the house we built in the land given to us.
We got affected by the Movement. When they had fights among themselves we got caught in between. I got beaten by them; they punched me in my stomach. I have three children. Recently I got married off my second child. Son completed his schooling and now just staying at home.
I had a tough time with lack of food and did labor work to educate my children which I can never forget. Even in India I was doing labor work for Rs15 per day. They have put a refugee camp, and we will get Rs15 for working there. In addition to that we got rationed food. We managed our lives with that.
We were in Thalvuppadu in the year 1992 and came to Mullikkulam in 2007. Now I do agriculture. Military had destroyed our entire livelihood. I once owned three fishing nets and now going for labor work. I use to do fishing and trade them to Colombo in iced boxes. I did this business together with my elder brother. Now it’s almost a year he died. We lost all our belongings and got affected and beaten by both the military and the Movements.

මම ඉපදුනෙ මුල්ලිකුලම්වල. අපි ධීවර කටයුතු කළා. පසුව යුද්ධය ඇතිවීම නිසා සියල්ලම හැරදමා ඉන්දියාවට පැනල ගියා. නැවත ඇවිත් බලනකොට අපිට රැකියාවක් කිරීමට හැකියාවක් තිබුණෙ නැහැ. දැල් හා ඔරු සියල්ලම ගිනිබත් කරලා. ගෙයත් විනශවෙලා. ඉන්පසු නැවත ගැටුම් ඇතිවීමෙන් පසු අපි මන්නාර්මේ තාල්වුපාට්ටුවල වසර හයක් ඉඳලා ආයෙත් ඇවිත් මෙහෙ ඉන්නවා. ගැටුම අතිවීමට පෙර මුල්ලිකුලම්වල පවුල් 300 ක් විතර හිටියා. මෙහි දිගටම ගැටුම් පැවතීම නිසා මිනිස්සු එක එක දිහාවන්ට පැනල ගියා. එසේ ගිය බොහෝ දෙනෙකු නැවත ඇවිල්ලා නැහැ.
ඔවුන් තවමත් මන්නාරම ඉන්දියාව වැනි ප්‍රදේශවල ඉන්නවා. මුලින්ම පෙරමුණක් ලෙස තිබුණා. පසුව ප්ලොට් සන්විධානය තිබුණා. ඉන්පසුව කවුන්සිලයක් තිබුණා. පසුව එල්ටීටීඊ සන්විධානය හා ප්ලොට් සන්විධානය අතර ගැටුම් ඇතිවුණා. දෙපැත්තෙම මිනිස්සු ටික ටික මැරුණා. පසුව ප්ලොට් සන්විධානය තිබුනෙ නැහැ. එල්ටීටීඊ සන්විධානය තිබුණා. එල්ටීටීඊ තිබුණු කාලයේ හමුදාවෙන් ඇවිත් ප්‍රශ්න ඇතිවූ අවස්ථාවේ හැමෝම ගම අතහැර තලෛමන්නාරමට ගොස් බෝට්ටුවෙන් ඉන්දියාවට ගියා.
ඉන්දියාවේ වසර දෙකක් හිටියා. පසුව ත්‍රිකුණාමලයට පැමිණ එහි සිට කල්පිටියට පැමිණ එහි පේසාලෙයි කඳවුරේ රඳවාගෙන සිටියා. පසුව අපිට කැමති තැනකට යන්න කීවා. අපි තාවුල්පාට්ටු වලට ගියා. පසුව 2002 වසරේදී ආයෙත් ගැටුම් ඇතිවෙලා මුරුන්ගන් පාසලේ සිටියා. ඉන්පසු නැවත තාවුල්පාට්ටුවලට ආවා. දැනට ඉඩමක් ලබාදී ඇති අතර එහි ගෙයක් හදාගෙන ඉන්නවා.
අපිට පෙරමුණෙන් කරදර ඇතිවුණා. ඔවුන්ගෙ ගැටුම් අතරට අපි මැදිවුනා. මට ගහලා බඩට ඇන්න නිසා මේ වගේ ප්‍රශ්නයක්. මට ළමයි තුන්දෙනෙක් ඉන්නවා. දෙවෙනි ළමයා දැන් තමයි විවාහ කරලා දුන්නෙ. පුතා ඉගෙනගෙන ගෙදර ඉන්නවා.
අමතක කළ නොහැකි සිදුවීම නම් කෑමට කැඳවත් නැතුව කුළී වැඩ කරල ළමයින් ආරක්ෂා කරගෙන උගන්නපු එක. ඉන්දියාවෙදිත් කුලී වැඩ තමයි කළේ. දවසකට රුපියල් 15 කට වැඩ කළා. කඳවුරක් වගෙ දාල තිබුණා. එහි වැඩ කළොත් වියළි ආහාර සමග රුපියල් 15 ක් ලැබෙනවා.
1992 වසරේ තාල්පාට්ටුවල හිටියා. 2007දී මුල්ලිකුලම්වලට ආවා. දැන් ගොවිතැන් කරනවා. අපේ රැකියාවේ හැමදේම හමුදාව විනාශ කළා. මාළු දැල් තුනක් තිබුණා. දැන් කුළී වැඩටයි යන්නේ. ඉස්සර ධීවර කටයුතු කළා. දැලෙන් මාළු අල්ලලා අයිස් දමා කොළඹ යවනවා. මමයි අයියයි එකතුවෙලා වැඩ කළේ. දැන් අයියා නැතිවෙලා වසරක් වෙනවා. සන්තකයම නැතිවුණා. හමුදාවෙනුත් අපි බැට කෑවා.

நான் முள்ளிக்குளத்திலே பிறந்து வளர்ந்து வந்தேன். தொழில்துறை வைத்திருந்தோம். பிறகு வன்செயல் பிரச்சினையால எல்லாவற்றையும் விட்டுட்டு இந்தியாவுக்கு ஓடினோம். இந்தியாவில் இருந்து இங்க வந்து பார்க்கேக்க தொழில்த்துறை இல்லை வலை வள்ளம் எல்லாவற்றையும் எரிச்சிட்டாங்க . வீடு வாசல் ஒன்றும் இல்லை. அதுக்குப் பிறகு மறுபடி பிரச்சினை வர மீண்டும் ஓடிப்போய் தாழ்வுபாட்டில் 6 வருடங்கள் இருந்து விட்டு திரும்ப வந்து இப்ப இங்க இருக்கின்றோம். பிரச்சினைக்கு முன்னுக்கு முள்ளிக்குளத்திலே 300 குடும்பங்கள் காணப்படுகின்றது. இங்க ஒரே பிரச்சினைகள் வந்து அங்கால இங்கால ஓடினது இன்னும் நிறைய சனங்கள் வந்து சேரவில்லை.
இன்னும் மன்னார் இந்தியா போன்ற பல திசைகளில் காணப்படுகின்றனர். முதல் ஆரம்பத்தில் இயக்கம் இருந்தது. பிறகு பிளட் இருந்தது. பிறகு பேரவை இருந்தது. பின்பு LTTE கும் பிளட்டுக்கும் அடிபாடு நடைபெற்றது. இரு அணியிலும் கொஞ்சப் பேர் இறந்தனர். பிறகு பிளட் இல்லை LTTE இருந்தது. LTTE இருக்கேக்க இராணுவம் வந்து பிரச்சினை நடக்கேக்க பொதுமக்கள் எல்லாம் ஊரைவிட்டு தலைமன்னார் போய் போட் ஊடாக இந்தியாவுக்குச் சென்றோம்.
இந்தியாவில் 2 வருடங்கள் இருந்தோம். திருப்பி திருகோணமலைக்கு வந்து அங்கிருந்து கல்பிட்டிக்கு வந்து அங்கிருந்து பேசாலை முகாமில் வைத்திருந்தார்கள். பிறகு அவர் அவரை விரும்பிய இடங்களுக்கு போகச் சொன்னார்கள். நாங்கள் தாழ்வுபாடுக்குச் சென்றோம்.மறுபடி 2002ம் ஆண்டு மறு பிரச்சினை 18 நாள் முருங்கன் பாடசாலையில் இருந்தோம். இருந்து மறுபடி தாழ்வுபாடுக்கு வந்தோம். இப்ப காணி தந்திருக்காங்க அங்க வீடு கட்டி இப்ப இருக்கின்றோம்.
இயக்கத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டேன. அவர்களுக்கு இடையில் சண்டை நடைக்கேக்க இடையில் மாட்டினோம். எனக்கு அடித்து வயிற்றில் குத்தி இவ்வாறான பிரச்சினை எனக்கு 03 பிள்ளைகள். 2வது பிள்ளைக்கு இப்பதான் கல்யாணம் செய்து கொடுத்தேன். பொடியன் படித்திட்டு வீட்ட இருக்கின்றான்.
மறக்க முடியாத சம்பவம் என்னவென்றால் சாப்பாடு கஞ்சி இல்லாம அங்க அவதிப்பட்டு கூலிவேலை செய்துதான் பிள்ளைகளைக் காப்பாற்றி படிக்க வைத்தேன். இந்தியாவில் போயும் கூலி வேலை தான் செய்தேன். ஒரு நாளைக்கு 15 ரூபாய்க்கு வேலை செய்தேன். முகாம் மாதிரி போட்டிருந்தாங்க அங்க வேலை செய்தா 15 ரூபா சம்பளம் அதோட றேசன் உணவோட சாப்பிடுறது.
1992ம் ஆண்டு தாழ்வுபாட்டில் இருந்தோம். 2007 இல் முள்ளிக்குளத்திற்கு வந்தோம். இப்ப விவசாயம் செய்கிறேன். எங்கட தொழிலைத்தான் இராணுவம் எல்லாத்தையும் அழிச்சிட்டாங்க. 3 கரை வலை வைத்திருந்தேன். இப்ப கூலி வேலைக்குத்தான் போகிறேன். ஆரம்பத்தில் கடல்தொழில் செய்தேன். கரைவலையில் மீன் பிடித்து ஜஸ் போட்டு மீனை கொழும்புக்கு அனுப்புறது. நானும் அண்ணாவும் சேர்ந்துதான் தொழில் செய்தோம். இப்ப அண்ணா இறந்து 1 வருடம் ஆகிவிட்டது. பொருள் பண்டம் எல்லாத்தையும இழந்தோம்.ஆமி இராணுவம் இயக்கத்தாலும் அடி வாங்கினோம்.
