History
Earlier our village was known as Batagoda. Now it is known as Batugoda due to the frequent usage of that name.
The name “Batagoda” had been given to this village due to the fact that there had been a forest of reed plants here. However now the name has been changed as Batugoda.

ඉතිහාසය
අපේ ගමේ පැරණි නම ‘බටගොඩ‘ ලෙස හැදින්වේ. එය දැන් කටවහර නිසා දැන් ‘බටුගොඩ‘ යැයි කියනවා.
බටුගොඩ යන වචනය සැදුනේ මේ ගම මීට කලින් බට කැලයක් නිසා දැන් එය බටු ගොඩ යැයි කියයි.
අපේ ගමේ පැරණි නම ‘බටගොඩ‘ ලෙස හැදින්වේ. එය දැන් කටවහර නිසා දැන් ‘බටුගොඩ‘ යැයි කියනවා.
බටුගොඩ යන වචනය සැදුනේ මේ ගම මීට කලින් බට කැලයක් නිසා දැන් එය බටු ගොඩ යැයි කියයි.
எமது கிராமத்தின் பழைய பெயர் பட்டகொட ஆகும். தற்போது அது பட்டுகொட என அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. முன்னர் மூங்கில் காடு இருந்ததினால் இந்தப் பெயரினால் அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
