The canal and floods
Due to heavy rains the canal overflows and the paddy fields are flooded. As a result all the crops are destroyed.
Also due to heavy rains the Nilwala river overflows and water enters our village. Then children are not able to go to school. When a big flood comes all our houses drown and our lives come to a halt. Due to the rain our road ( The road opposite the shrine room) also becomes flooded and muddy. This also creates a lot of difficulties for the people. In 2004 a big flood came to our village and a large number of houses were flooded.

වැඩිපුර වැස්ස විට ඇල උතුරලා වගා බිම් යට වෙනවා. එවිට අපේ ගමේ තිබෙන මිනිසුන්ගේ වෙලවල්, විවිධ ගස් වර්ග වගා කරපු තැන් යට වෙනවා. එමගින් වගා බිම්වල වගා කරපුවා විනාශ වෙනවා.
වැඩිපුර වැස්ස විට නිල්වලා ගග උතුරලා අපේ ගමට ගංවතුර එනවා. එවිට පාසල් වලට යන ළමයින්ට යන්නට සිදුවන්නේ නැත. විශාල ගංවතුරක් පැමිනි විට නිවාස යට වෙනවා. එවිට ජන ජීවිත අඩාල වෙනවා.
වැස්ස නිසා අපේ පාර (බුදු මැදුර ඉදිරිපිට පාර මඩ වෙනවා. එවිටත් මිනිසුන්ට විශාල අපහසුතාවයට පත් වෙනවා.
2004 වර්ෂයේ අපේ ගමටවිශාල ගං වතුරක් පැමිණියා. එවිට ගෙවල් විශාල ප්‍රමාණයක් යට වුණා.

2004 වර්ෂයේ අපේ ගමටවිශාල ගං වතුරක් පැමිණියා. එවිට ගෙවල් විශාල ප්‍රමාණයක් යට වුණා.
ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் வெசாக் பெளர்ணமி தினத்தில் சில அனுஸ்ட்டானங்கள் இடம் பெறுகின்றன. போதி பூஜைகள் இடம் பெறுகின்றன. கிராமத்தில் அனைவரும் இணைந்து இவற்றில் ஈடுபடுகின்றார்கள்.
மழை அதிகம் பெய்யும் போது வெள்ளம் ஏற்பட்டு வயல் நிலங்கள் தாழ்கின்றன. பயிர்ச் செய்கை நிலங்கள், செடி கொடிகள் வெள்ளத்தில் மூழ்கின்றன.
கடும் மழையின் போது நில்வளா ஆறு பெருக்கெடுத்து எமது வீடுகளும் மூழ்கின்றன. மாணவர்களுக்குப் பாடசாலை செல்ல முடியாமல் உள்ளது. மக்களின் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கை பாதிக்கப்படுகின்றது.
மழை காரணமாக எமது வழிபாட்டு நிலையத்திற்கு வரும் வீதி சகதியாக மாறுகின்றது.
2004 வெள்ளத்தில் எமது கிராமம் பொிதும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டது.
