There were 7 in my family. In the riots in 1990 my elder son died. We lived happily as four brothers. My village in Vandaramulla. I studied up to GCE (O/L) in Batticaloa Vandaramulla school.

I lead a happy life. I got married after a love affair but my parents did not like that. Therefore I faced a number of problems.

I got married and have two children, Both were boys. I had many problems in my family life.

We suffered a lot due to the war, Tsunami, terrorism and many other things.

I suffered a lot in raising children and educating them. I came to Malaiyadi village to send my children to the nursery school. I rent out a house in Korakkovil area.

We suffered due to the war in 1990s. I was 13 then. Army burnt my elder brother on tires. I cannot forget that. This happened when there was a war between the army and the LTTE.

My husband complains that my mother did not give him a dowry to marry me off. Therefore we had problems. What else I can do. I have to live.

In the fisherrmen’s hut the army burnt my brother and some others on tires. My father was shot and injured. Our property destroyed. The movement helped us.

I am engaged in a self-employment. I hope that my income will increase and my business will flourish.

My children should get education in Colombo and get rich.

I want to buy a house and a land of my own.

All the people suffered due to the war without any class or religious differences.

All the friends supported me when I came to the Korakkovil.

When we were helpless the LTTE gave us food and helped us.

I get a tremendous relief when I write down the things I experienced throughout my life.
